Greetings!
2012 is here, and with it comes exciting opportunities in our industry. What's New at Counterpoint Software, will keep you informed about new features, enhanced reporting capabilities, and meeting and training opportunities, all designed to keep you ahead of the game.
This past year was very exciting for us, and we want to thank you for being a part of it. Some of our highlights of which we are most proud include:

New Features
Ability to display and calculate a 12 and 14 week Quarters
2012 is not only a leap year, but its third quarter also contains 14 weeks. In the past, our reporting software was limited to a 13 week quarter, but now version 5.8 is able to display a 12, 13, or 14 week quarter on proposals and contracts, as well as on all reports that calculate based on a standard month. The Proposal System will also calculate a 14 (or 12) week quarter's ratings in the Demo Bar. The best part is, you do not have to do a thing! Counterpoint will recognize the length of the quarter and handle it all for you.
New Customer Polls
Counterpoint is continually evolving to bring you a product that will keep you competitive in our industry. While keeping the demands of the market in mind, we keep the needs of our customers at the forefront of any design change that we make. To ensure that the changes we make are improvements in efficiency and user friendliness, we have implemented an on line polling feature. Occasionally, you will receive a multiple choice polling email. Please take a minute to answer these questions so that we can continue to bring you the product you have come to expect from Counterpoint.

Housekeeping
Automatic Spot Import
Between work, family, and social life/media, you have a lot to take care of. Luckily, we are here to help by automating some of your tasks! Many of you already use our Automatic Backup program to run a nightly backup, but did you know we can also import your posted affiliate spots as well? You set the import time and we do the rest, allowing you to relax as your spots are imported during off hours, freeing up your valuable time and server during the work day. For more information about setting up the Automatic Spot Import or Backup program(s), contact support@counterpoint.net.
Pervasive 11 Upgrade
If you have not done so already, it is time to upgrade to Pervasive version 11. Pervasive has stopped any development on version 10, and no longer supports any version prior. Pervasive version 11 is required to upgrade to Counterpoint version 5.8, which offers many new features, like the Proposal XML Export, the ability to control what is exported through new Affiliate Avail controls, and the Affiliate Management System, as well as enhancements in speed and performance, for all of your Traffic and Affiliate Departments. Who's who at Counterpoint
Mike Rooney VP, Sales mikerooney@counterpoint.net
Mike Rooney joined Counterpoint in 2010, as Vice President of Sales, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the Radio and Broadcast Systems Industry. Mike began his broadcasting career at Marketron, as a Systems Consultant, eventually becoming Vice President of Sales and Operations. During his 20 years with the company, he helped to increase their client base from 30 stations to over 1,200. In 1999 Mike moved to Capstar Broadcasting and became President of Galaxy Systems, after a brief merger with AM/FM, he joined Clear Channel as Vice President of Broadcast Revenue Systems, where he was responsible for an unprecendented conversion of all 1,280 Clear Channel owned stations to the MediaStar Traffic system.

Behind the Screens
This section of What's New at Counterpoint Software highlights tips and tricks that could be useful to your daily work.
January offers us a fresh start. What better way to start anew, than to clean up old, unused data? Counterpoint retains all contracts, logs, invoices, etc., so that data can always be accessed and audited. But when is the last time you viewed a contract from 1997? The Archiving Utility will go through and remove data prior to a date of your choosing from your live database, and place it in a file that can be reactivated if needed.
